On this page we've tried to answer the questions that are most commonly asked about JustActors.co.uk Publicity shoots. You'll also find out a little about who JustActors.co.uk are.

What will happen on the day?
A JustActors Publicity Shoot lasts about an hour and a half, longer if you want a makeup artist present.
We'll have a chat about the sort of looks you're trying to achieve, before we start shooting. Some clients (especially the actresses) usually like to a variety of pictures in different outfits to show how versatile they are, and that's just fine.
After the shoot we'll have a look at the photos together, and pick the six images you'd like artworked ready for printing.
I'll put a copy of all the raw (pre-artworked) images onto a CD, for you to take home with you.
Once we've artworked your final six we upload them to our client only website for you to order your prints. For a couple of quid we'll also put the artworked images on another disc.

Do I bring my own clothes?
Yes.
Try to bring a mixture of light and dark tops. You'd be surprised how much of a difference that can make to the camera.
If you're a lady you might want to bring a couple of changes of footwear - although your shoes won't be in the picture your shoes make a big difference to your posture and how you stand.
Don't wear anything too tight fitting on the way here. We don't want any marks on your skin. And make sure any clothes you bring with you are ironed. Every single crease will show up in the photographs!

Do I bring and do my own makeup?
You won't normally require any additional makeup to what you're used to wearing.
Try to avoid heavy foundation if the rest of your body is quite pale - we don't want you to look like an orange lollipop.
If you want we can arrange for a makeup artist to be here on the day. Some clients find it helps boost their confidence.

What do I get for my fee?
A day to suit you!
Weekends or weekdays - whatever's more convenient.
A copy of all the photos
We put all the photos on a disc, for you to take away, that same day.
Half a dozen Art Worked Images
Pick your favorite six photos and we'll art work them ready for printing

I only want head and shoulders / three quarter length shots?
That's absolutely fine. We usually shoot three quarter length, but if you want we can crop the picture down to head and shoulders only.
If you want full length pictures (head to toe) then please let us know ahead of time.

Can you do outside shots?
Yes we can, although we prefer to use our studio as we have more control over the lighting.
Please let us know ahead of time if you need / want outside shots.

Can you do black and white pictures?
Any of the pictures we produce can be turned into black and white at no extra charge, just let us know.

Why is it so darn cheap?
We charge just £109.
You can easily pay up to £500 for publicity photographs, so you might well ask yourself just why we're able to offer this service at a fraction of the price. Here at JustActors.co.uk we believe in giving you a set of photograph that will help you to get paid work as an actor. This means that...
- You won't leave here with a huge folder of glossy prints because, although that's very nice, you actually only need one good picture!
- There won't be a makeup artist here (unless you pay extra or bring one with you).
- We're charging what we consider a fair price for our time.

How and when do I pay?
Payment can be made credit/debit card (or paypal).
A small deposit of £20 secures your booking, and the remainder of the fee is due exactly one month before the appointment.

What if I need to cancel?
Things happen. We understand that. That's why if you need to cancel we're happy to refund everything (apart from the deposit of £20) so long as you give us a week's notice.
Of course, rather than cancel your shoot we'd prefer to postpone it, or pick a date that's more convenient. So long as you tell us before your original shoot (even 1 day before) we'd be happy to do this for you and you won't lose any money.

Can I bring my boyfriend, Mum, friend to the shoot?
Absolutely. We are more than happy for you bring along a chaperon (maybe not all three at the same time though).

Who's behind JustActors.co.uk?
That would be me. Peter the photographer. That's me to the right.
As well as a photographer I'm also a part time actor. I started doing publicity photographs about five years ago to help out friends and colleagues. After a while I was helping out friends of friends, and so justactors.co.uk was born.

Whereabouts are you?

We're near Southend-on-Sea area, just outside London.
From the M25, both the A13 and the A127 bring you right into the heart of Southend.
You can check to see how far we are from you are by using the map above, but we'll also send you our postcode and really good directions on how to find us when you book your shoot.
